Black & Decker was expanding into a new market that built upon their existing strength in the home hand tool area. The solution was new, yet evolutionary approach to their brand identity. The hexagonal shape of the mark and corporate colors built upon the heritage and equity of a symbol over 75 years old. The identity was equally at home on the workbench as the kitchen counter.
