The Taproot Foundation is a volunteer organization that provides local nonprofits with grants of branding, marketing and online professional services. Role as Creative Director is to oversee all visual creative print and online work. Help create strong design community and foster professional and high-quality results.

Classroom Connect – a Harcourt Company
Creative Director  2004
Managed professional development programs and online instructional materials for K-12 education. Responsible for visual development of the company’s products, brands and all related marketing efforts. Lead and mentored online and print designers, information architects, writers and managed audio/video providers. Collaborated with corporate and marketing communications, professional development content specialists, finance and front-end and back-end engineering teams. Also oversaw all financial matter for the creative department.

Landor Associates
Creative Director of Digital Branding 1998-2003
Lead a department of strategists, consultants, designers, project managers and online developers in Landor’s Digital Branding practice. The department focused on Web design and development including functional and technical requirements, information architecture, user interface, production, implementation, animation, film and aural identity. Responsibilities included hiring, developing and mentoring talent; engaged and managed the client relationship. Oversaw all creative and had financial responsibility for the group. Client list included AT&T, FedEx, Visa International, Accenture, HP, Microsoft, Dow Corning, SGI, ITT Industries, Avanade, San Francisco Opera, Xiameter and Seagate.

Senior Designer, Interactive Design Director  1987-1998
Involved in designing, leading and managing teams in corporate and retail identity, packaging and print for branding projects including Caterpillar, Hyatt, Hilton, Bell Atlantic, Novell, FedEx, and Southwestern Bell. In the Mid-90s pioneered and championed the fusing of traditional branding with emerging online technologies. Promoted the realization of online media as a major communication channel. In Landor’s New York office, gained experience working on large-scale projects with major clients, including Black & Decker, Neosporin and Wear-Ever Aluminum. In 1985 transferred to San Francisco and was involved in corporate and brand identity projects for Coca-Cola, Frito-Lay, Kimberly-Clark, Burroughs Computers and Royal Jordanian Airlines.
